There are a number of neighborhoods in El Cajon who will be celebrating National Night Against of Crime on August 5th. Join with your neighbors and plan an event that helps you get to know your neighbors, talk about the area where you live, support each other in making your neighborhood a friendly, safe, and crime free area. Have a pot luck dinner, meet a new person that you live by, figure out who the parents are of the kid you see outside all of the time. Send a blog about what is going on. I know that the car show on Main Street Wednesday night August 6th will have a focus on the same theme.

Thank you for such a great blog and for your support of National Night Out! If you are interested in participating in the 25th anniversary of National Night Out on Tuesday, August 5th, please contact Officer Hansen at 619-441-1597 and register your neighborhood and/or community by Friday August 1st. If you register your neighborhood, law enforcement personnel from the El Cajon Police Department will stop by and you will receive a certificate of participation. This is a GREAT event to bring our community together and take a stand against crime.

In regards to the Cajon Cruise Car Show that will be held on Wednesday August 6th from 5:00pm - 8:00pm, please join the El Cajon Police Department, El Cajon Fire Department and several other law enforcement agencies to celebrate National Night Out. Several law enforcement vehicles, including our SWAT vehicle, will be on display. Take this opportunity to meet your local law enforcement personnel. A K-9 demonstration will be held at 6:30 near the El Cajon Performing Arts Center. Roger Hedgecock will be hosting his radio show from the car show as well. Please make sure to bring your entire family! There will something for everyone!

For more information regarding National Night Out, please visit our home page or the National Night Out website at www.nationalnightout.org.

For more information about the car show, please visit the Downtown El Cajon website at www.downtownelcajon.com.

We would like to thank Officers Smith and Thornton for coming to talk with us. They arrived around 6:30 and talked with some of our residents. Thank you again.

I just found out from our sector liason that we collected enough money for the new signs, they were ordered and have arrived. We should have them up soon.
Activity at the end of the streets closest to the park looked pretty quiet considering that school just started. Anyone see anything different. Thank you to Park and Rec who took care of that major grafiti marking on the front of the building last week. That was one of the worst I have seen, but it was not there long at all.
