I was wondering about the lighting situation at Wells park. I'm a parent who's kids play there & at the same time I bring my dog's to the dog run.I find it odd that the dog park is all lite up when dusk falls yet the child's park is dark & without lights.I of course think the kids should come first & the kids park deserves as much light as the dog Park gets when the sun falls. When it starts to get dark the homeless come out of there bushes & sit in the park where the kids play because its dark.I'd rather have the dog run NOT lite & the kids park lite.
If you patrol Wells park in the P.M. you know what I'm talking about. I know I'm not the only parent that this bothers.
Who do I contact to get the lights to turn on for our kids?

Thanks so much for letting us know about Wells Park. I have notified our patrol division about the issue of the homeless folks coming out after dark and they are going to look into it. With help of the City Managers office and Parks and Recreation, the City has removed some of the bushes around the park that the homeless would camp in. Hopefully, this will curtail some of that activity. We are constantly looking for ways to make all our City parks enjoyable for all. If you notice people drinking alcohol, smoking, and or committing any other crimes, please calls us at 619-579-3311.

As far as the issue with lighting, I would suggest you contact the City Managers office and let them know about the playground lighting. The phone number is 619-441-1716. I hope this helps.

Thanks very much,
